Doi Suthep

Doi Suthep is one of the most popular attractions sites located almost 12 kilometers outside of Chiang Mai. This mountain gives you a panoramic view of the city and is an ideal place to refresh all your senses. It is five thousand and four hundred meters above sea level and is the place where Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is located. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a 13th-century temple and makes for a white elephant shrine. Also, Doi Suthep has a model of the Emerald Buddha.

Nimmanhaemin Road

Nimmanhaemin Road in Chiang Mai is one of the busiest and modish roads where you can find lots of restaurants and fancy bars. If you reach one end of this road, you can also find a shopping mall from where you can find all sorts of brands and get all kinds of things, including various designer shops and popular restaurants. In addition, it has a multiplex cinema to fulfill your entertainment plans.

Doi Inthanon National Park

Doi Inthanon National Park is a beautiful tourist site in Chiang Mai with the highest mountain. It almost made out of granite and an extension to the Shan Hills, of Thailand. This park is spread over nearly 48,240 hectares. The highest peak of the mountain is 2565 meters tall, and this place can reach a temperature as low as -8 degrees centigrade. Furthermore, Doi Inthanon National Park is home to a large number of various species of birds that add to the beauty of this place.

Khao Soi

If you are in Chiang Mai, treating your taste buds to khao soi is the best that you can do for yourself. It is a curry and coconut flavored soup full of chicken and yellow egg noodles. With this dish, you will also be given pickled green mustard, a slice of lime, and chopped red onions. Other than this delicious soup, there are also various original Thai cuisines that you can savor.

Warorot Market

Warorot Market is situated near the Ping River. Unlike most of the night markets here, this market opens early in the morning and closes when it starts to get dark. The prices of items offered here are relatively low as compared to the items sold at other markets. Here, you can find almost everything ranging from fruits, meat, clothes, to fireworks, and souvenirs. In Wrorot Market, you can also find some sections dedicated to Thai handicraft items available at low rates.

The Mae Ping River

If you want to relax and watch the scenic beauty of Chiang Mai at the same time, then you need to go on a two-hour boat trip along the Mae Ping River. Here, you can get a sneak peek at the teak houses and wats. Along your river trip, you also make a stop for lunch at the home of a local farmer. While you are at your host’s place, you get to relax in their beautiful orchards and learn the process of completion of the production of jasmine rice.

The Cat Cafe

The Cat Café of Chiang Mai is named Catmosphere and has beautiful interior and exterior. The interior of this place is aesthetically decorated with pictures of cats in UFOs. The cats of this café walk freely, and you can play with them too. Before heading here, note that the drinks at this café are relatively expensive as compared to drinks sold at other cafes in Chiang Mai.

The Long Neck Karen Tribe

While being in Chiang Mai, paying a visit to the Long Neck Karen Tribe located in Mae Rim should be a must. Here, you get to see the daily activities of local people.
